 We’re looking for a hands-on DevOps engineer to join our fast-growing tech team, and help drive the modernization, performance, and resiliency of our ever-growing application and underwriting data layers. We’re a small team with a large impact and wear a lot of different hats, so you will be instrumental in advancing our platform in ways that add value to the company’s goals. 
 
The impact you will make:
Build, grow, and maintain our cloud-based infrastructure
Scale our infrastructure
Develop processes for optimizing performance and security
Work directly with the our CTO and Director of Engineering to help diagnose, prevent and implement our daily needs with applications, databases and networking
Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors
Recommend and implement emerging cloud technologies
Maintain and expand on our current CI/CD
You’ll approach tasks with both a fault-tolerant and performance-oriented mindset, and have the ability to learn on the fly and pick things up quickly
You’ll be mindful of best design and security practices, be an excellent communicator who is able to work closely with all teams, be a champion of "DevOps culture," and enjoy working in a fun and diverse environment
 
What you bring to the table:
Strong experience with Kubernetes and other deployment tools.
Experience with AWS services
Experience with Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) reporting and monitoring
Skilled in Replication, Backup and Recovery (including Point-in-Time)
Approach tasks with both fault-tolerant and security focused mindsets
The ability to learn on the fly, and pick things up quickly
Demonstrated history of maintaining production platforms, and identifying opportunities to improve, scale, and provide resiliency in disaster recovery
Experience monitoring for, and responding to critical incidents
You love to keep up with the latest technologies, and are willing to present ideas to the team
 
Nice to Haves:
CI/CD tools like Jenkins, CircleCI etc.
Github knowledge (hooks etc.)
Reporting tools like Papertrail, Newrelic etc.
Hands-on experience with sharding and partitioning databases and tables
