ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following.

  • Drive system level decisions on cloud services sizing, cloud/edge architecture and keep user experience at highest standards.
  • Discover, design, and deliver software migrations involving Microsoft on-premises and cloud applications and infrastructure. 
  • Serve as an escalation point for other engineers related to Microsoft and AWS services and solutions.
  • Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
  • Advise, implement, and support of Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Intune, and Azure to peers and customers.
  • Advise, implement, and support of Microsoft on-premises applications, including Windows Server, Exchange Server, IIS, ADFS, and SQL Server to peers and customers.
  • Engineer, implement, and support of Microsoft cloud applications, including Office 365, Exchange Online, Azure AD, and Teams.  
  • Build a robust methodology and processes to deliver improvements to products and services.
  • Deliver effective communication and technical leadership.
  • Identify and solve complex challenges ranging from rapidly growing infrastructure to high velocity product/feature development demands.
  • Gather and collect feedback from service owners to gain a deep understanding of their needs and technical challenges to maximize the value we can achieve through Cloud services.
  • Meet with peers to understand and communicate best practices related to cost optimization.
  • Provide mentorship of other systems administrators.
  • Stay current with industry trends and standards. Making recommendations as needed to help the organization innovate and excel.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of Azure and AWS Cloud experience with implementations, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Previous exposure in cloud infrastructure, integration, cloud server provisioning.
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, reliable, and efficient technical cloud ecosystems to support enterprise applications.
  • Experience in securing data and environments: encryption, logging, compliance reporting, etc.
  • Knowledge of setting up and using different database types like Azure SQL, Aurora, Redshift, and/or Snowflake.
  • Experience with API and Gateway functions like Cloud Function and API Gateway (or equivalent).
  • Good understanding of REST API, the HTTP protocol and JSON/XML.
  • Experience in version control branching strategies.
  • Great organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Great communication skills and must be capable of communicating complex ideas fluently.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative data-analysis skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
