Your new team:
Join a platform-focused environment where infrastructure is treated as a product, not a ticket queue!

As a Cloud Engineer (m/f/d), you take ownership of our AWS platform and continuously evolve it as the backbone of our fintech infrastructure. Your goal is to provide a secure, automated, observable, and cost-efficient foundation that enables engineering teams to ship reliably and independently.

This role comes with real architectural influence. You will shape AWS networking standards, define Kubernetes best practices, improve infrastructure modularization, and drive operational excellence across teams. We value strong technical judgment, pragmatic decision-making, and a long-term mindset.

You will not just operate systems. You will improve them.
What you can expect:
  • Linux on AWS: Operate and harden Debian and Ubuntu systems in high-availability environments. Improve patching processes, performance tuning, automation, and overall resilience.
  • AWS Architecture and Networking: Design and evolve VPC setups, connectivity such as VPNs, routing strategies, and security boundaries. Strengthen cloud-native architecture patterns and address structural weaknesses.
  • Kubernetes (EKS): Build and operate EKS clusters as a standardized platform layer. Manage upgrades, define best practices, and troubleshoot complex issues when they arise.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Design and maintain reusable Terraform modules and Ansible roles across environments. Improve structure, reduce configuration drift, and ensure long-term maintainability.
  • CI/CD Enablement: Work closely with development teams to improve GitLab pipelines and deployment patterns, helping remove friction from delivery workflows.
  • Operational Excellence: Strengthen monitoring, alerting, and observability standards. Contribute to incident response and continuously improve reliability by addressing root causes.
  • FinOps: Increase cost transparency and actively optimize cloud spend without compromising reliability or performance.
Your profile
  • Strong AWS and Linux Experience: You have hands-on experience operating and improving AWS environments in production and are confident working with Debian or Ubuntu systems.
  • Infrastructure as Code Expertise: Proven experience with Terraform and Ansible in real-world, structured environments.
  • Kubernetes in Production: You have built, upgraded, and troubleshot Kubernetes clusters, ideally on EKS, and understand the trade-offs involved in platform-level decisions.
  • Networking Fundamentals: Solid understanding of VPC architecture, VPNs, DNS, routing, and cloud security concepts such as security groups and network ACLs.
  • Automation and Scripting: Strong Bash and or Python skills to automate and simplify operational tasks.
  • Operational Mindset: Experience with monitoring and observability tooling and a structured approach to reliability and incident management.
  • Nice to Have: Experience with RDS operations for MySQL or PostgreSQL, familiarity with Go, or exposure to common open-source tools such as GitLab, Elasticsearch, or RabbitMQ.
  • Language: Fluent in English. German is a plus.
What we offer:
  • Flexibility for Your Lifestyle: Enjoy family-friendly working hours and a generous home office policy, allowing you to stay agile and flexible in any situation.
  • Ergonomic Work Environment: For your office days, we provide ergonomic workstations that offer you a comfortable and healthy workspace.
  • Independent Work: With short decision-making paths, we enable you to work autonomously and actively contribute your ideas – we provide space for you to take on responsibility.
  • Grow with Us: Unlock your potential with numerous opportunities for growth and development, along with an annual development budget to help you achieve your professional and personal goals.
  • Team Spirit: Team spirit is important to us – we regularly host events and parties where fun is guaranteed.

Your Perspective: You will shape the technical backbone of a growing fintech platform and influence how our cloud infrastructure is designed and operated in the long term. This role offers real ownership, architectural impact, and the opportunity to continuously raise platform standards across teams. If you value autonomy, depth, and building systems that scale sustainably, you will feel at home here.
