JOB TITLE:  Cloud Engineer - AWS

FLSA STATUS:  Exempt

REPORTS TO: Director, Cloud Services

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No

JOB LOCATION:  Remote

TRAVEL:  None

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a point of contact for all infrastructure supporting our enterprise applications
  • Create and maintain i3's infrastructure as code portfolio
  • Facilitate infrastructure migrations and changes within AWS using tools such as BitBucket, Azure DevOps, Terraform, and CloudFormation
  • Engage and assist our security team to maintain a secure environment for our applications
  • Create and maintain a portfolio of templates, scripts, and configurations for developers to use when building out new environments or applications
  • Research and engineer new ways to monitor systems and applications for performance and availability
  • Review network / application performance and deploy any necessary enhancements into relevant environments
  • Execute quarterly security scans and work with security and development teams to resolve

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):

  • 5+ years experience managing and operating critical infrastructure in a cloud-based environment
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services (VPC, RDS, ECS, EC2, Glue, Athena)
  • Practical experience with device and application monitoring tools (ex: Site24x7, New Relic, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, etc.)
  • Strong experience creating and maintaining pipelines within CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, AWS CodeDeploy, or BitBucket
  • Advanced knowledge creating and maintaining containerized applications
  • Strong sense of ownership over your work
  • Determination to follow issues to resolution both with and without guidance
  • Strong experience with Python
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):

  • Experience migrating applications from dedicated environments to cloud-based providers
  • AWS certification (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, DevOps Engineer)
  • Experience setting up and securely configuring web servers such as Apache, Nginx, and IIS
