The Cloud Engineer focuses on building and maintaining reliable, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure while managing core services like VPC, EC2, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and more. You’ll use CloudFormation and Git-based workflows to automate deployments and keep environments consistent, secure, and cost‑efficient. The position also involves applying AWS best practices for IAM, tagging, and security, as well as monitoring cloud resources to ensure strong performance and availability. Beyond AWS, you’ll support Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, and general network and security operations across hybrid environments. The role includes participation in a scheduled monthly maintenance window, typically held on Saturday nights.

Responsibilities:

  • AWS Cloud Infrastructure Management and Architecture, including design, implement and maintain scalable and resilient AWS solutions, manage core AWS services including networking (VPC, Route 53), compute (EC2, ECS), Serverless (lambda, API Gateway) and storage (S3, EBS).
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (AWS CloudFormation) to develop, maintain and optimize automation workflows to streamline deployment, configuration and operations tasks.
  • Utilize Git and version control practices as an integral part of all DevOps procedures and Infrastructure as Code workflows
  • Understand and implement AWS best practices for defining IAM policies, adhering to resource tagging standards, and ensuring proper cost-allocation tracking
  • Implement and manage security best practices across the AWS environment, manage Security Groups and Network ACLs.
  • Proactively monitor the cloud environment and its services to ensure optimal performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
  • Manage and support for Windows Server, Linux Server, Active Directory environment across hybrid and cloud resources.
  • Provide support for network operations, security, and communications systems. 
  • This position requires participation in scheduled monthly maintenance windows which typically occur on a Saturday night.

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of demonstrated and hands-on experience across the breadth of AWS services.
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certificate is required.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate Certification is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., CloudFormation).
  • Expertise in managing and troubleshooting complex Windows Server, Linux Server, and Active Directory environments.
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts, including switching, routing, gateway, firewall, TCP/UDP, and communication ports and protocols
  • Proficiency in scripting like PowerShell and Python for automation.
  • Experience with the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) and Software Development Kits (SDKs) for management and automation.

While working a Remote schedule, qualified candidates must be able to maintain a schedule of working within ACR's operating hours of 8:30A - 5:00P (EST) and be willing to attend a monthly Saturday night meeting. When working remotely, workers must be self-motivated, possess excellent time management, and be highly organized.  Reliable internet connection is a must!

ACR is committed to a total rewards compensation philosophy that includes base salary in addition to our full suite of comprehensive benefits.  ACR’s goal is to pay competitively and equitably.  It is typical for individuals to be hired in the entry to middle of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on each case’s circumstances.  A reasonable estimate of the annual compensation range for this position is $92,900 – $123,900.
