Cloud Engineer

Location: North Chesterfield, VA

Position Overview:
The Cloud Engineer serves as a Team Leader, ensuring seamless infrastructure connectivity across multiple projects and acting as the central resource for all infrastructure-related activities. This role involves project coordination, interface partner collaboration, network documentation, and proactive system monitoring to maintain connectivity, accountability, and project alignment.

Duties:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all infrastructure-related activities, ensuring seamless communication, accountability, and project alignment.
• Oversee infrastructure connectivity, maintain network documentation, manage IP repositories, and collaborate with partners to ensure secure and efficient connectivity.
• Work closely with project teams to track project timelines, address potential delays proactively, and ensure timely completion of infrastructure tasks.
• Prepare and manage firewall rule documentation in collaboration with VITA and interface partners, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
• Establish and maintain centralized documentation, monitoring tools, and system insights to enhance performance, identify infrastructure gaps, and support disaster recovery planning.

Required Skills:

• 5 years of Cloud Engineering experience
• 5 years of experience leading delivery of cloud services
• 3 years of experience with network infrastructure (IP management, FW, etc)
• 3 years of Cloud Infrastructure experience
• 2 years of System Integration experience
• 5 years of experience performing complex tasks without minimal supervision
• Must have good communications skills, especially the ability to explain technical issue to a non-technical audience
