Overview

Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for a Public Cloud Azure Engineer. This is a remote contract opportunity that offers benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the organization’s cloud strategy, including cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring.
  • Design scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on Azure.
  • Identify appropriate use of Azure operational best practices and architectural design patterns.
  • Plan and execute the migration of complex, multi-tier applications to Azure.
  • Implement and manage security measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage and costs.
  • Implement cost control mechanisms for Azure cloud-based resources.
  • Provide architectural guidance and expertise to other IT personnel, including software developers and systems engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Azure services with on-premises networks as required.
  • Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies on Azure.
  • Stay updated with the latest Azure updates and improvements to provide optimal solutions.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of IT experience, with at least 3+ years in Azure architecture and design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Related Experience in place of degree accepted.
  • Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator.
  • Proficiency in Azure services, IaaS, PaaS, and experience with tools like Terraform, Azure CLI, Puppet, and Ansible
  • Deep understanding of Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and databases.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, or Perl to automate tasks and manage resources efficiently.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform ARM templates, and Ansible to automate infrastructure deployment and management.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and data protection
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles and tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and Git for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) to ensure data protection and regulatory adherence.
  • Familiarity with virtual networks, VPNs, load balancers, and other networking components within Azure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
