Azure DevOps Engineer with Strong Cloud experience

Primary focus:- Azure platform, CI/CD, deployments, automation, monitoring, production readiness and operational support

Works with:- EY engineering, Mazda Infrastructure, Security, Architecture, Data/EIM, application teams and AMS

Role objective:-Make deployment and platform operations secure, repeatable, supportable, and Mazda-owned

POSITION SUMMARY

The Azure DevOps Engineer will provide technical ownership of the Azure platform and deployment processes supporting . The role will work with EY engineers and Mazda technology teams to establish reliable, secure, and repeatable delivery across Development, Test/UAT and Production, while reducing dependency on external resources for deployment troubleshooting and ongoing platform operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

β€’ Support Azure infrastructure and deployment requirements for across Development, Test/UAT and Production.

β€’ Design, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated build, deployment, and release processes.

β€’ Support containerized application deployment, Azure Kubernetes/container platforms, and Azure Container Registry where applicable.

β€’ Troubleshoot application deployment, environment configuration, frontend/backend/API connectivity, and platform issues.

β€’ Coordinate networking, firewall, DNS, certificates, VPN and connectivity requirements with Mazda Infrastructure teams.

β€’ Support Azure identity, managed identities, service principals, secrets, and Key Vault integration.

β€’ Partner with Security on SSO, RBAC, access controls and cloud security requirements.

β€’ Manage environment-specific application configuration and support technical validation before promotion.

β€’ Establish monitoring, logging, alerting and operational dashboards for application and platform health.

β€’ Develop repeatable deployment, rollback, recovery, and release procedures.

β€’ Support Infrastructure as Code and automation practices where appropriate.

β€’ Participate in production-readiness reviews, releases, go-live and hypercare.

β€’ Maintain environment, pipeline, deployment, and operational documentation.

β€’ Transfer platform knowledge to Mazda IT/AMS support resources and support ongoing troubleshooting.

β€’ Identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, automation, performance, and cloud operating cost.

RELEVANT TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE

β€’ Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps; CI/CD pipeline design and support.

β€’ Docker, Kubernetes / AKS or comparable container orchestration platforms.

β€’ Azure Container Registry, Azure Key Vault, Azure networking / VNet, managed identities and service principals.

β€’ Entra ID, SSO and RBAC.

β€’ Azure monitoring, logging and alerting.

β€’ Azure Databricks / Data Lake integration exposure is preferred.

β€’ APIs, microservices, PostgreSQL or comparable cloud database platforms.

β€’ Infrastructure as Code and automated environment/configuration management.

REQUIRED / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

β€’ 5+ years of Cloud, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or comparable experience.

β€’ Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience supporting enterprise applications.

β€’ Experience promoting applications through Development, QA/UAT and Production environments.

β€’ Experience with cloud security, identity, networking, secrets management and troubleshooting across application/infrastructure layers.

β€’ Experience working with external development partners and supporting applications through go-live and production support.

β€’ Azure certifications are preferred but not required.

SUCCESS MEASURES

β€’ Deployments are repeatable, controlled and increasingly automated.

β€’ Mazda has documented ownership of environments, release procedures, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

β€’ Production-readiness issues are identified early and resolved through clear technical ownership.

β€’ Knowledge of the cloud platform is retained within Mazda beyond implementation.
