AWS DevOps Engineer *

Position Description:

CGI is seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to support cloud infrastructure, application deployments, security updates, and platform upgrades within a large scale financial services environment. This role will focus on maintaining reliable AWS based services, automating infrastructure and deployment processes, and supporting production operations.

This position is required in one of the following locations: Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Columbia, SC, Birmingham, AL
 

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The AWS DevOps Engineer will work across multiple environments, manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code, support containerized workloads, and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues. The position requires strong hands on AWS experience along with a solid understanding of deployment automation, monitoring, incident response, and release management.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Required Skillset

. Strong hands on experience with AWS services, including EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, ALB/NLB, CloudWatch, Route 53, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
. Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, or comparable tools.
. Hands on experience with Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure provisioning and automation.
. Experience deploying and supporting containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, including ECS or EKS.
. Proficiency with Python and Shell scripting for automation and operational tasks.
. Experience with application and infrastructure monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response, performance tuning, and root cause analysis.
. Experience managing deployments across development, testing, staging, and production environments, including rollback strategies, configuration management, and release governance.
. Understanding of AWS security practices and IAM, particularly authentication, authorization, roles, and permissions.
. Strong troubleshooting skills and experience supporting highly available production environments.
. Financial services or other highly regulated enterprise environment experience is beneficial.


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $102,000.00 $178,500.00.
