What You’ll Be Doing

As a DevOps Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our infrastructure supports seamless operations and exceptional product performance. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Infrastructure Automation & Optimisation: Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.

  • CI/CD Management: Develop, optimise, and manage CI/CD pipelines for smooth and rapid deployments.

  • Monitoring & Incident Response: Set up logging, monitoring, and alerting systems; respond quickly to incidents to minimise downtime.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with backend engineers, data scientists, and product teams to streamline development and operations.

  • Security & Compliance: Apply security best practices and perform regular infrastructure audits to ensure compliance.

  • Cost Optimisation: Manage cloud infrastructure costs effectively, optimising resource utilisation.

  • Continuous Improvement: Automate repetitive tasks and stay updated on the latest DevOps tools and practices.

  • Maintain high system uptime and availability.

  • Reduce deployment times through CI/CD optimisations.

  • Decrease incident response times with robust monitoring and alerting systems.

  • Support increased deployment frequency and improved system scalability.

  • Enhance security compliance and optimise cloud costs.

What You'll Bring

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience with AWS.

  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).

  • Expertise in containerisation/orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).

  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

  • Experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch).

  • Solid understanding of Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals.

  • Familiarity with cloud security best practices.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).

  • Understanding of database optimisation for SQL/NoSQL systems.

  • Previous experience in fast-paced or start-up environments.

  • Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
