Role Overview

Virtelligence is seeking a hands-on AI Architect / Software Integration & DevOps Lead to help modernize our application development and delivery model. This is a practical, execution-focused role for someone who can combine software architecture, PHP/MySQL development, REST API integration, DevOps automation, and AI-assisted engineering.

This is not a research or academic AI role. We are looking for a technical leader who can use modern AI tools to accelerate real software delivery while ensuring the code, integrations, infrastructure, testing, and deployments are secure, scalable, and production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and modernize applications built on PHP, MySQL, and REST APIs
  • Lead integration design across internal systems, external platforms, third-party APIs, and AI/LLM services
  • Design and support secure, scalable API layers, data exchange workflows, authentication patterns, and integration standards
  • Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Gemini, GLM, Windsurf, or similar to accelerate development, refactoring, documentation, and testing
  • Review AI-generated code for logic, performance, security, maintainability, and production readiness
  • Partner with DevOps teams to design and improve CI/CD pipelines, release automation, containerization, monitoring, rollback processes, and deployment standards
  • Support cloud deployment and application modernization, with preference for Microsoft Azure experience
  • Use AI tools to improve testing, code quality, documentation, deployment scripts, and engineering productivity
  • Establish standards for AI-assisted software development, API integration, DevOps workflows, secure coding, and production support
  • Work closely with business, product, development, QA, and infrastructure teams to convert requirements into technical solutions

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering, application architecture, integration engineering, or DevOps-related experience
  • Strong hands-on background in PHP development
  • Strong experience with MySQL and relational database design
  • Strong experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs
  • Proven experience with system integration, API orchestration, data exchange, and third-party platform connectivity
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Git workflows, environment management, deployment automation, monitoring, and production support
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Gemini, GLM, or similar
  • Experience integrating applications with AI/LLM APIs or automation workflows
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure preferred; Google Cloud experience is a plus but not required
  • Strong understanding of application security, API security, database performance, and scalable architecture
  • Ability to communicate clearly with developers, DevOps engineers, business stakeholders, and leadership

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, or similar PHP frameworks
  • Experience with Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot ecosystem, Azure DevOps, or cloud-native application services
  • Exposure to RAG, vector databases, LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or agentic AI frameworks
  • Experience modernizing legacy PHP/MySQL applications
  • Experience using AI for test automation, code review, documentation, DevOps workflows, and SDLC acceleration
  • Healthcare IT, HIPAA, payer/provider, or regulated industry experience preferred

Work Arrangement

  • 100% on-site role
  • Must be able to work closely with internal development, DevOps, integration, and leadership teams
  • Fast-paced environment focused on practical delivery, modernization, and measurable outcomes

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is not simply a developer using AI tools casually. This person is a hands-on architect who understands software development, integration engineering, and DevOps deeply enough to guide AI tools, validate their output, and move solutions safely into production.

You should be able to bridge application development, integrations, AI, cloud, and DevOps — helping the team ship better software faster without compromising quality, security, or stability.
