They need an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer Engineer to lead the IT and Infrastructure department and be responsible for the systems that are used primarily by the Backend and Data Teams. This includes technologies like Greenplum DB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Snowplow, Kubernetes, Ceph Storage Clusters, Prefect Server and Dremio across AWS and physical locations.




Reporting to the CTO, you will be responsible for all day-to-day IT operations including (but not limited to) offboarding and onboarding of accounts, LDAP / Authentication systems, in-office infrastructure such as WIFI and maintaining the firm's physical datacentre locations.

You may also be required to work with and manage outsourced / 3rd party suppliers to augment the team and skills as appropriate.

You will also be responsible for the disaster recovery procedures of all infrastructure, alerting and monitoring of all infrastructure and lead on any infrastructure incidents.

Your team will also manage the IT help desk to provide first line support to internal teams for any and all related IT issues.




⚡Your areas of responsibility will include:




Cloud & Physical Infrastructure Management:


Manage both cloud-based infrastructure in AWS and on-prem infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
Establish best practices for AWS resource provisioning, configuration, and monitoring, including cost optimization.
Develop, implement, and test disaster recovery plans for the entire infrastructure.
Oversee the patching process for all systems, ensuring proactive patching as needed.
Maintain the security and efficiency of IT infrastructure, including standard office infrastructure like WIFI.
Implement and test system-wide disaster recovery and incident response plans regularly.
Ensure proper physical connectivity for offices and other environments, including provisioning, monitoring, and redundancy.




Audit, Security Compliance & Penetration Testing:


Collaborate with departments to resolve security and compliance issues, including firewalls, DLP systems, and WAFs.
Lead Penetration Testing efforts and address findings with relevant teams and proactively identify and address security issues.
Implement controls and systems directed by the Compliance and Security team or deemed appropriate by your team.




IT Support Desk and Administrative Functions:


Oversee IT support desk operations, handling ticket triage and responses.
Administer G-Suite or equivalent SaaS systems.
Manage onboarding/offboarding processes for accounts and staff and Implement and maintain the company's Asset Management System.
Communicate roadmaps and milestones effectively across the organisation.
Report risks as needed.




💸The salary for this Senior Cloud Engineer Role is paying up to £70,000 + Package Benefits.

📍The Firm is based in London, and you will be required to be on-site 2 Days per week, which is 1 day in each of their two primary locations. 




✅Essential Requirements:


Proficient in managing AWS cloud infrastructure.
Expertise in Linux, Kubernetes, OpenStack, or equivalent technologies.
Advanced knowledge of Database Management systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
Strong familiarity with CEPH and OpenStack technologies.
Competent in Windows management tools and LDAP/Active Directory.
Skilled in managing both Physical and Virtual Networking solutions.
Understanding of managing mixed environments of Linux, Mac, and Windows Desktops.
Knowledgeable about BYOD solutions for Mobile Devices.
Experience with cloud security and implementing security measures in cloud environments.
Exceptional at establishing and nurturing relationships across various organizational levels and departments.
Possess a positive, committed, and flexible attitude with a problem-solving mindset.
Familiarity with ISO27001 and CSE+ standards.
Capable of leading diverse and geographically dispersed teams.
Relevant industry qualifications are preferred.
