Job Description for DevOps Engineer role at Maker Inc.

We are looking for engineers with solid knowledge of hosting and monitoring tools, infrastructure systems and passion for working on the latest technologies in a fast-paced environment.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will need to manage our infrastructure on Heroku, AWS and our CDN.
As our DevOps Engineer, your job will be highly technical and hands-on both on infrastructure and backend code.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will also need to support our Ruby on Rails backend application.
Our stack is JS (React, Redux, web components), RoR, Postgres, GraphQL, Elastic Search, etc.

Your typical day-to-day will involve:

Taking complete ownership of Maker's infrastructure including deployment, monitoring, support and evolution of our infrastructure systems.
Help maintain and develop our backend systems in Ruby on Rails.
Exploring and evaluating new developments in tech that can benefit our products and platform, or the operational effectiveness of the software development team and the reliability of our services.

Must have:

a strong background in DevOps, application monitoring and reliability
have strong knowledge managing infrastructure on Heroku, AWS and our CDN
have strong experience deploying and maintaining applications at scale
have the experience building rails APIs and integrating with third-party APIs
have experience working on an internal product (an application or CMS) is a plus
have worked on key functionality for a cloud-based product
have experience with test-driven development and unit testing
experience in software engineering and architecture (exp of working in product based startup is a plus).
experience building and maintaining at least two products from scratch, and then scaling them from 10X to 100X.
Good communication skills and hands-on coding skills in building and maintaining enterprise applications using Ruby on Rails.
